Claps, the Club and the store, explained
Claps are what ClapOut is played for. You get them free, you win them at the table, and you can earn more whenever you like — and nothing you could ever buy changes a single rule.
A card game is more fun when something small rides on it. That is what Claps are for: a light stake that makes a win feel like a win and a forgotten clap sting a little. Here is where they come from and where they go, in plain words.
What Claps are
Claps are ClapOut's own play currency. Your balance sits in a small gold-edged chip at the top of the screen, on the join screen, in the lobby and at the table. Tap it to open your wallet: the balance, how many games it covers, your streak and today's challenges.
Claps exist only inside the game. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside ClapOut, and cannot be sold or traded. Our terms of use set this out in full.
The stake and the pot
Every game at a live table has a small stake. When the host taps Start, each person at the table puts in the same stake, and together the stakes make the pot. The winner takes the pot. The Start button shows what a game costs and what the winner takes before anyone commits, and guests see the same line.
- Bots play free. They put nothing into the pot. If a bot wins, the pot is gone — which gives everyone a good reason to keep an eye on Rocket.
- A game that never finishes costs nothing. If the host leaves, the table goes quiet or the server restarts before the game ends, every stake is given back.
- Leaving mid-game forfeits your stake. Once the cards are dealt, walking away does not bring it back.
- Nobody is ever removed mid-game for lack of Claps. The stake is checked before the deal. If someone cannot cover it, the game simply does not start, that player is shown the ways to earn more, and the host sees a calm note saying who the table is waiting for.
Claps you get for free
Most players never need to think about topping up, because the game keeps handing Claps out.
| What | When it arrives |
|---|---|
| The welcome | Your very first visit: a starting balance worth a good few games, so your first evening is on us. |
| The daily allowance | The first time you connect each day. A small note pops up on your chip to say what landed. |
| The streak bonus | On top of the allowance when you come back on consecutive days. It builds through a seven-day strip towards a bigger bonus on the seventh day; miss a day and the streak starts again. |
| The first win of the day | A bonus on top of the pot for your first win each day. |
| Daily challenges | Three a day, drawn fresh each day and tracked from the games you play. Each pays when it is done, and finishing all three pays a bonus. |
The exact amounts are set on our server and may be adjusted as the game develops, so this page does not quote them. The game always shows the real figures: on the Start button, in your wallet and on the store's cards.
Earning more when you run low
When your balance covers only a couple more games, a quiet line appears under QUICK PLAY to say so. If it drops below a game's stake, QUICK PLAY becomes EARN CLAPS, and joining or hosting waits until you are topped up. Either way, three doors are always open, side by side, and each says what it pays.
Watch: a short video, only if you choose
You can watch one short video in return for Claps. It plays only when you tap the WATCH door — never by itself, never as a pop-up, and never during a turn. While a game is on, the door says "After this game". There is a daily limit and a short wait between videos, and the door shows both, so you always know where you stand. Close a video early and it simply pays nothing.
Play: Clap Catch
Clap Catch is a twenty-second mini-game of timing. Pairs of clapping hands fly in from the sides of the screen; tap at the exact moment they meet. A hit scores good, great or perfect, and a run of hits builds a multiplier — until a miss sets it back to the start. The hands do not play fair for long: some speed up, some nearly stop and then dash, and the pace quickens as the clock runs down. The better your run, the more Claps it pays, up to a limit per run.
For a bigger reward, choose the hard mode, Clap for real: you clap out loud at your phone's microphone instead of tapping, the hands move faster and the timing is stricter. As at the table, the listening happens on your phone and nothing is recorded, and the microphone is released as soon as the run ends. After a paid run you may also double it by watching a video. Clap Catch has its own daily limit, and like the video it waits while a game is on.
Buy: packs and the Club
The third door opens the store. It is always there, and it is never the only way forward.
The store
The store lives at clapout.app/store and has three packs of Claps, from small to large, plus the Club. The prices are shown on each card before you tap anything, and the pack that gives the most Claps for your money wears a "Best value" tag. Payment goes through Stripe's secure checkout page; we never see your card details. When you come back, the store waits for the payment to be confirmed and then shows the Claps landing in your wallet. If you cancel at the checkout, you come back to the store with "No charge — nothing was taken".
Packs and the Club are digital content delivered straight away, so sales are final except where the law gives you a right to a refund. The terms have the details, and if anything goes wrong, contact us.
The ClapOut Club
The Club is an optional monthly membership for people who play a lot and would rather not think about Claps at all. As a member:
- You play with no stake. Your own seat puts nothing into the pot, at any table.
- You see no ads. The video door, the low-balance line and the out-of-Claps screen all disappear, and your chip simply reads Club.
Your wallet still shows your balance, your streak and your challenges. To cancel, email us at connect@mikehaye.com and we will stop the next renewal.
Keeping your Claps safe
You do not need an account to play. Your Claps are kept with a player id stored in your browser, which is simple but fragile: clear your browser's data and a balance that was never saved may be lost. To keep it, tap Save your Claps in your wallet and continue with Google, continue with Apple, or ask for a sign-in link by email. There is never a password. Signing in never costs you Claps, and signing in on a second phone brings your wallet along. Claps you won or bought on that second phone join your account too; its free welcome and daily grants stay behind, since your account collects its own.
Our promise: the same game at every seat
This is the rule we build everything else around. Nothing you can buy changes the rules or gives anyone an advantage. There are no stronger cards, no extra time on the clock, no peeks at other hands and no easier catches. A player who has never spent a penny and a Club member sit at the same table and play exactly the same game, dealt from the same shuffled deck and judged by the same rules. What money buys is convenience — more Claps, no stake, no ads — never a better chance of winning.
The only way to get better at ClapOut is to play it: learn the elements, read the strategy tips, and clap on time.
